Creative Family Day Care

The owner of this facility, Ivy Tyson, is the mother of four children.  She had a desire to teach from she was three years old, so she pursued a teaching career after graduating from teachers' college, and successfully completing her undergraduate studies . 

In 1993, while she was expecting her fourth child, she had a vision, and an overwhelming desire to start a family day care business.  Perhaps it was partially birthed out of the same concern most parents have when seeking adequate day care for their children.

She was encouraged by family members, neighbors and close friends to start the business.  Eventually in August, 2002 she was granted the license to start the family day care.

The programs in this day care encourage creativity.   The owner, believes that when children enjoy creativity while they are young, they may even continue to utilize those skills into adulthood as hobbies, or they may even choose a career in those areas.  The inspired Word states: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it'.  Essentially while children participate in the programs they are so engaged in fun that they do not even realize that they are actually learning.

Our Business

We have programs designed to keep children motivated to learn, as they actively participate in fun activities. We are licensed to care for children from six weeks old to twelve years old.  The doors open from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The Programs currently offered include:

• A Full Time Program for children six weeks old to five years old
• A Full Time Program in the summer for children five years old to twelve years old
• A Part Time After Care Program for children who are between the ages of five years old and twelve years old.
• A Part Time Program for children who are between the ages of six weeks old and twelve years old who need care on an 'as needed basis', if space is available.

Who We Are

The owner has completed relevant child care courses which include the 90 Hour Child Care Course, CPR, First Aid and SIDS for infant care.  Twelve clock hours of additional courses have been successfully completed bi-annually in accordance with the state regulations.

No pets are kept on the compound at any time to accommodate children who are afraid of animals or suffer with allergies. 

The property is on a non-smoking site, that is smoking is never allowed at any time, even when child care is not in session.
